Understanding Page Views

What Counts as a Page View?

Each time a visitor loads a page on your store, it counts as one page view. A typical visitor session might include 3-10 page views.

Estimating Your Needs

To estimate your needs:

  1. Check your Shopify Analytics for monthly sessions
  2. Multiply by average pages per session (typically 4-6)
  3. Choose a plan that covers this amount

What Happens at the Limit?

When you reach your monthly limit:

  • Recording pauses automatically
  • Existing data remains accessible
  • Analytics continue to work
  • You can upgrade for more pageviews

Reset Limit Feature

Available on BASIC and higher plans:

  • Manually reset your pageview counter
  • Warning: Deletes all recorded data
  • Counter resets to 0
  • Use only when necessary

Free Trial

New paid subscriptions include a free trial:

Changing Plans

Upgrading

  1. Go to Settings > Plan & Limits
  2. Click Upgrade Plan
  3. Select your new plan
  4. Confirm in Shopify

Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing.

Downgrading

  1. Go to Settings > Plan & Limits
  2. Click Upgrade Plan
  3. Select a lower plan
  4. Confirm in Shopify

Downgrades typically take effect at the next billing cycle.
